Kufuor And Rawlings, Salute President Mahama

Our two living Former Presidents, Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor this afternoon led a high powered delegation of dignitaries to salute President John Dramani Mahama shortly after his inauguration at the Independence Square.

The dignitaries included Former United Nations Secretary General, Mr Kofi Annan and his wife, and former First Lady Nana Konadu Ageyman Rawlings.

Former President Rawlings after paying compliments, embraced President Mahama. This act attracted loud cheers from the enthusiastic crowd. Mrs Rawlings, wife of the NDC founder also embraced the new President.

Former President Kufuor when it got to his turn, walk briskly and shook hands with both Vice President Amissah-Arthur and President Mahama, and dramatically waved to the crowed. We can say that our Former Presidents really like “fans”.

Mr Kofi Annan adopted a quite unique style in paying his compliments to the President. After shaking hands with the President, he went for the French head-to-head style of paying compliments.
