A lot of people say comparison is not good but I personally think it is good to compare, it helps people check themselves and improve or know where they fall short.

We at OMGGhana.Com strongly accept opinions from people as we build a lot on that.

I once stated on my Facebook page that after all the Azonto craze is done and gone, Fante rap was next. Before I could say jack, three of the finest Fante-speaking rappers came through, Teephlow signed to Hammer’s The Last 2, Kofi Kinaata signed to Samini’s High Grade Family and recently popular rapper Pappy Kojo, best know for his hit song “Realer No”. Now let’s analyze them.

Kofi Kinaata, he had his first biggest underground hit song “Onyi Chorus” before he was signed to Samini’s label, since then, Kofi Kinaata has been named the “Fante Rap god”. What I like about Kofi Kinaata is his Fante raps are clear and easy to understand even if you don’t speak the language, Fante.

Kofi Kinaata has scored semi-hit songs like Move, Different, Oh Azaay and featured on many more hit songs from Samini and other artistes.

Teephlow, a graduate of KNUST who has been signed to Hammer’s record label, The Last 2, the label responsible for many great artistes like Edem, Kwaw Kese, Obrafour among others. Teephlow’s style is a bit more like the Fante-speaking version of Sarkodie. Great punchlines and funny lyrics is his expertise. He has also scored semi-hit songs like Alkayida, Hosanna among others.

Whoever said swag can’t make a star deceived you. Pappy Kojo is the latest fante-speaking rapper in town. After a hit verse on Joey B’s “Wave” song, many have fallen in love with his style and rap. Pappy Kojo went on to release his biggest single yet “Realer No“. The song became an instant hit. Pappy Kojo’s lyrics are not very clear to non fante-speaking folks as he raps slightly faster. We love the flow, the swag and the thick fante he speaks.

Now the question is thrown back to you, who is your favorite among these kings of Fante rap and why? Let us know by your comments below.
