The Attorney General, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong would be pressured by an Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday, January 7 to act to unveil the top Government officials who are involved in the ‘Nayele Ametefe’ Cocaine Saga.

Ms Ametefey, who holds both a Ghanaian and Austrian passport, said she has been a companion to the unnamed powerful persons on several trips across the world during court proceedings in the Isleworth Court in UK.

Nayele, mother of 3 children was sentenced to eight years in a UK prison for trafficking 12.5 Kg of cocaine. She was also arrested with $23,000 on her. The 32-year-old lady pleaded with the court not to deport her to Ghana after serving her sentence as life in Ghana would be very difficult for her.

The Deputy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Abiel Ashittey Armah, one of the 12 individuals accused of aiding Miss Ametefeh says he will raise the matter in court today. Legal Practictioner for Mr. Armah, Frank Davis has revealed that it is important for the personnel who facilitated the trafficking of the cocaine to the UK by incarcerated Nayeli Ametefe to be unmasked.

He maintained that,

It is important that we put strenuous effort and a campaign on the revelation of the true identity of the people she has sworn about. We need to get to the bottom of this matter because other people are being held for crimes they have not committed.

Security experts have advised the government to work in collaboration with the UK to hunt down unnamed powerful persons involved in the case.
