Andre Ayew’s officials met with AS Roma officials earlier this week to discuss possible terms ahead of a potential move this summer.

While it appears to be inevitable that the Ghana superstar will finally call time on his career at his beloved Olympique de Marseille, with whom he has failed to agree terms on a new deal, Ayew’s next destination remains a mystery.

Last week, he indicated that he would be keen to play in England and that he supported Liverpool, edging Brendan Rodgers’s side into the lead in the race for his signature.

However, reports this week indicate that the Giallorossi are serious about bringing Ayew to Rome and according to L’Equipe, have already made a contract proposal.

Details have emerged after the offer made by Roma; La Gazzetta dello Sport have revealed that a yearly salary of €3 million has been proposed, although that is dependent on La Maggica securing a return to the Champions League for next season.

Ayew has made it clear that he wants to play regularly in Europe’s elite club competition—something that had eluded him at OM. With seven games to go in the Italian season, Roma currently sit in third—in line for a return to the Champions League—level on points with city rivals Lazio and five ahead of Napoli, who occupy the first Europa League qualifying berth.

Similarly, Roma would require the Champions League revenue to fund their ambitious offer to Ayew.
