BET says they do not present the Best International Act – Africa and UK awards to the various winners backstage.
Top African acts like Fuse ODG, Yemi Alade and Wizkid have been complaining about the awards organisers disrespecting Africans and non-Americans by presenting awards to their various categories backstage.
Replying a fan who complained that the 2015 BET Best International Act – UK was given to Ghanaian-born UK-based artiste, Stomzy backstage, they said it was not a backstage event.
In a sharp reply, the Best International Act instagram account said
“this was not backstage. tt was on the BET Awards stage.”
