The premises of the Cocoa Affairs Court in Accra nearly turned into a boxing ring when the family of the late NPP Chairman, Adams Mahama, decided to deal with the Afoko family.
As can be recalled, the NPP Chairman was attacked with acid leading to his death a couple of months ago.
According to a friend who took him to the hospital, Adams indicated to him that his assailants were Gregory Afoko, brother of the NPP National Chairman, Paul Afoko, and another person.
This lead to the arrest and subsequent arraignment of Gregory. Police investigations also indicated that when the clothes of Gregory were analysed, it was detected that they had traces of acid on them.
Today at the court, the family of Adams who were besides themselves with grief, decided to take the law into their own hands and deal with the family of Afoko over the death of their brother. The timely intervention of other family members and people around, preventedwhat could have become a very nasty scene.
