Kyeiwaa’s father, Nana Appiah Kubi has confirmed his daughters marriage to Daniel Osei, aka America man on Neat FM in Accra.
Nana in the interview said he led a delegation to accept Mr. Osei’s marriage to his daughter. He said he is not aware that his daughter’s husband has a wife and until any of the two parties come to inform him of it, he is going to give deaf ears to media reports.
“Yes! It is true Kyeiwaa is my daughter. On Sunday I went with my family as the head with my nephews, my brothers and sisters and the entire family to attend my daughter’s engagement ceremony.
My daughter introduced Daniel to me that he has asked for her hand in marriage, so my family and the man’s family met for the traditional marriage ceremony. It is a real marriage. It is not a movie.
How does this disgrace Kyeiwaa or her family? How could Kyeiwaa know that the man is someone’s husband and still go ahead to marry him? May be the man hid something from her. So if someone says this is a disgrace to Kyeiwaa, I don’t understand. If the man was truthful to my daughter and she still went ahead to marry him, then you can say it is a disgrace. It is the man who didn’t tell my daughter the truth so if there is any disgrace at all, it is the man who has been disgraced not my daughter.
As tradition demands Kyeiwaa came to my house about a month ago to first introduce Daniel to me in the company of a pregnant woman and another gentleman before the engagement was scheduled for Sunday August 30, 2015 and they were even planning a white wedding on a later date after the engagement.
I still don’t know whether he is another woman’s husband or not. I have called Daniel several times but he is not answering my calls and I have also called my daughter but her phone has been off. So until I speak to both of them, I can’t say my daughter married someone’s husband.
He also denied media reports that Kyeiwaa’s family is in a crisis meeting
“Who told you my family has been in a crisis meeting? Which meeting and where did that meeting take place? I have not been able to speak to both my daughter and my son-in-law so how can we be meeting without speaking to them? We have not had any meeting as a family.”
Asked if he would advise his daughter to quit the marriage he said
“I am not calling my daughter to tell her to quit or not. I just want to know the truth of the matter. Most importantly it is my son-in-law that I really want to talk to and asked if it is true he is married to another woman and why he lied to my daughter.”
