Thanks to advancement in camera technology for mobile phones, there’s a new trend in town where people take pictures of themselves using the front camera of their mobile phones popularly known as “Selfie”.
We all love to do it from time to time. There are various types of selfies and these are the types we are all guilty of.
1. The Perfect Capture Selfie
On a normal day, you dress to an event and you realise the weather is just perfect for a picture so you take out your phone to take a selfie. This is the type of selfie where you comport yourself so well it comes out perfect like a picture for a competition.

2. The “I Am Bored” Selfie
You probably lying in bed or just woke up and fidgeting with your phone and because you’re bored, you decide to take a picture, that’s the type we refer to as the “I am bored” selfie. This is the type of selfie you take and you always have a dreamy face.
3. The Friends Selfie
You’re with a group of friends and you want the whole world to know you have friends too and so decide to take a pix of them to show off and it’s always you with the camera and most of the time you catch them unawares.

4. The Situational Selfies
This is one of the selfies ruining the world these days. Someone is drowning and instead of helping or calling for help, you rather decide to take a selfie with the incident in the background. You see a building on fire and instead of calling the fire service, you choose to take a selfie, these are the types we refer to as situational selfies and it’s dumb as hell.

5. The Nap Selfie
When you pretend to be sleeping and take pix of yourself, now that’s a nap selfie. You’ll find captions like “sleeping is bae”, “beauty in sleep” accompanying such pictures on social media.

6. The Funny Faces Selfie
You make all sort of faces and take selfies, such as the duck face, bottle mouth face, the grimacing face, the horror face etc.

7. The Foodie Selfie
Taking selfies of foods and selfies of you about to eat is the type we are referring to. Just as you’re about to eat the food, you whip out your phone and take a selfie with the food to show to the world that you’re about to eat that food.

8. The Window Shopping Selfie
You’re at the mall and you know you can’t buy any of the products displayed in the shops you visit but you decide to take a selfie with the items behind just to show off, now that’s the window shopping selfie.

10. Mirror Selfie
This is how selfies started because phones back then didn’t have good front camera. iPhones users also love this because obviously, they want you to see that they are using an iPhone.
