There smells trouble at the Royal Media Services after Group Managing Director Wachira Waruru sent a memo to all staff informing them of looming layoffs.
He pointed out that developments within the industry over the last few years have gravely affected their business environment and therefore a cut in labour force was inevitable.
Among those laid off were business journalist Terryanne Chebet, whose rumored salary was considered extremely high. She has already responded on the matter saying she is geared to remain upbeat and focus on other opportunities coming her way.
She posted on her Instagram page :
“I’m learning with great humility, that God does open other doors and I must be bold enough to find and knock on them.”
Another big fish on the chopping board was Kirigo Ng’arua; sources also indicate that she was equally earning a colossal amount.

Her ratings were said to have allegedly suffered a staggering low in comparison to co- anchor Willis Raburu who also hosted The Power Breakfast.

Abdi Osman, a reporter and allegedly one of the best editors at Citizen TV, highly eloquent and experienced also faced the chop.
Abdi had worked at RMS, and gained the reputation of an upright reporter who never received the so-called ‘brown envelopes’.
