We need more leaders like Najib Balala.

I can confidently write that he’s one of the few Ministers who’s doing his job well. Even with the travel bans and all other roadblocks, he strives to market Kenya the best way he can.

In a recent interview with CNN’s Richard Quest for his segment ‘Quest Means Business’, Najib was put on the hot spot and asked some tough questions. The interview quickly touched on important issues such as travel bans and what the Government is doing to revive the somewhat dying tourism sector, obviously due to terror attacks and such.

When asked by Quest on the Government’s main agenda to support tourism, Balala says that infrastructure is the number one priority. For tourism to thrive, the right infrastructure needs to be in place such as the almost completed SGR which will facilitate movement between Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda seamlessly.

As the interview comes to an end, a relaxed Balala invites Quest to Kenya, and even offers to be his tour guide.
