Lance Armstrong stripped of his seven Tour de France titles

Lance Armstrong has been stripped of his seven Tour de France titles by the sport’s governing body, the International Cycling Union (UCI), following his lifetime ban from the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). UCI President Pat McQuaid told a packed news conference in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday that the Union accepted the USADA report and that Armstrong had been stripped of all results since August 1998. That means that his successive Tour de France victories between 1999 and 2005 no longer stand.

The USADA report claimed that Armstrong was involved in the “most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen.” McQuaid added at the conference, “Lance Armstrong has no place in cycling.” [Source]
