NDC Snubs Pastor Otabil on Doctored Tape Issue
General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church,Pastor Mensah Otabil, has called on the NDC to stop what he calls “evil” and “criminal” attempts by members of the NDC to tarnish his reputation by piecing together comments he had made in the past to create the false impression that he is against the proposed free senior high school policy being espoused by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party.
I kindly call upon the President of the Republic to rise up and speak on this issue. With all due respect, Sir, although you may not be aware of these developments, the perpetrators of these blatant acts of impunity are largely affiliates and surrogates of your party,No one, and I repeat, no one, has the right to force their thoughts into my words; I own my thought; I own my words and I own my beliefs. There is a sinister force on the prowl in our nation; it is a force of impunity; it is a force of treachery; it is a force of evil, and good men in the Ghanaian society must speak ou
Pastor Otabil pleaded at a press conference. Even so, affiliates and surrogates of the President have turned deaf ears to the plea of the man of God.They have indication that the ruling NDC is not prepared to stop using the audio clips of Pastor Mensa Otabil for political mischief, as demanded by the man of God and his church.
The NDC has indicated that the audio tape is a commercial commodity available to the public and thence the man of God cannot call on them to desist from using it.
We do not see anything wrong with that because we believe that the teachings of Religious Leaders like Dr Mensa Otabil are inspirational and provide listeners with a clear understanding of the principles and values of the Christian faith,
