The a multi-purpose stadium, Baba Yara Stadium also known as Kumasi Sports Stadium on March 6 hosted a friendly match between Ghanaian and Nigerian actors. The match put together by Ghana Actors Guild was part of celebrating Ghana’s 57th Independence Day and to foster unity between the two movie industries.
The eventful match which saw over thousands of fans at the stadium ended three goals to one in favour of Ghana. Ghanaians scored their first goal twenty minutes into the game. The Nigerians scored through a second penalty awarded to them by the referee.
Before the match started, fans who were at the stadium were angry for the late start of the match which made them throw materials on the pitch.
Van Vicker, Bill Asamoah, Bernard Aduse-Poku, Bill Asamoah, Prince David Osei, Akrbeto, Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win and other actors played for Ghana Actors Guild. Some of the known faces in Nigerians team were Sopiriye Fiberesima, Chigozie Atuanya and Hanks Anuku.
