(NYDJ LIVE) – In an era where the ethics of broadcast journalism has been thrown to the dogs, media houses no longer cross check their facts but in a bit to sound more authoritative and described as first to break the news, media houses without shame broadcast to masses who swallow everything that is served them.

This morning, I received several calls asking if indeed Shatta Wale’s manager had been shot dead and my response to all these calls was a big NO as I knew Shatta Wale and his manager Bull Dogg were in Canada shooting a music video after a succesful show promoted by SammyTuga promotions.

I was then moved to find out where all these rumours were coming from only to be informed a Kumasi based radio station by name Kessben FM had announced that Shatta Wale’s manager whose name I could not readily access had been shot dead in Atwima Bawku where he works as a gold miner. What the heck?

The first question then was, how many managers did Shatta Wale have? A quick call placed through to his camp indicated that his official manager is and remains Bull Dogg and so the supposed manager could be one of the staunch followers the artist has ganered this short while.

Did Kessben FM really do their search well? Shatta Wale’s manager a gold miner in Atwima Bawku? Christ!!!

I however probed further to find out who this “manager” was only to be told he was one guy who normally walked with Shatta Wale. Does walking with Shatta Wale now make one a manager? I guess many of us are managers then since by virtue of our job, we walk with loads of these artists and celebrities.

The announcement of the death of this so called manager got social media busy as many felt too worried for the music industry and what could be happening.

My worst fustration even came in when callers from the diaspora expressed disappointment in Ghana and felt Ghana was no more a safe home to return to after a similar incidence had been reported of Kwaw Kese’sformer manager, Fennec Okyere.

Don’t be too worried if my emotions are taking the better side of me in this article but I believe with a bit of due diligence, we could all make broadcasting a worthy professsion.

We all may be at fault since once in my blogging experience, I publishsed and article for which I later had to apologise but………
