A Year On: This Is What Ms. Ada Has To Say About Her Gang Rape Story

$

0

After a year, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka, known in entertainment circles as Ms Ada has finally broken her silence with regards to her alleged gang-rape.

According to KasapaFmOnline, Ada who was speaking on Kasapa Entertainment with host Kojo Preko Dankwa, indicated that the police made a mistake with their initial investigation of the case which made them state that it was staged.

She said she never staged anything so if the police believe she’s guilty, they should send her to court and if she gets jailed, she’ll go to jail with swag.

Speaking about being sent to court, Ada revealed that till date, she has not been processed for court. In her opinion, this simply means that the police are not sure of the evidence they have and that’s the reason why they have not been able to send her to court.

“Up until now, one year on I think it wasn’t my duty to tell what exactly happened, truth is bad and is the police duty to investigate because my story doesn’t necessarily mean it is the truth so am expecting the police to come out again but this time not somebody’s say but a real proof into the incidence.

In one word they (Police) goofed, I don’t want to pick up wherever they started from.

I’m not sad because it happened to me, but I’m sad because many people go through real life stories like mine and police will have to play like this. I’m so glad it wasn’t just me because during my time I also heard about Charles Antwi, BNI picked him because he said he wanted to kill the president and it was the public that had to beg because he sounded psychotic, they didn’t even mash a break.

I never mentioned to anybody that am coming to shoot a movie, I didn’t speak nor say a word to the hotel manager, I didn’t have a conversation with him and the same person who went to the police station to report that I (Ada) hired him was the same person who told the hotel manager that he is coming to shoot a movie.

In my opinion five people can’t shoot a movie since a lot of people are involved in shooting a movie and even to the extent of someone holding a cutlass where he (Hotel Manager) should have banged into the room to stop them. He could have drawn the attention of his security personnel to stop them.

I have asked the police investigator to take me to the hotel but till today he has refused. The reason why I had wanted to see the hotel is to ask the manager if really he spoke with me. I don’t even know the hotel.

I have never been to court and that has been my campaign ever since I got better, I want everybody to encourage the police to go to court, if you want justice let’s get to court and I’m sure that the court will ask for them to do due diligence.

I signed police enquiry bail which means that they have no evidence and are still looking for evidence to back what they suspected to be and I’m still hoping that by now they have evidence then probably we head to court and If not then I might say that if anybody is deceiving the public then it is the police.”

Obaapa Christy formerly known as Christiana Love has told the world that she does not have a friend in the gospel music industry.

The “Hyebre Sesafo” singer in an interview on Accra FM’s gospel entertainment show, Gospel 360 told Andy Favored, host of the show that she has never called a fellow gospel musician to talk about unnecessary things.

IMG_0123

According to her, the fact that she had a conversation with you when you once met does not mean she should call you often. She added she only calls to check on the state of people but not to have a long chat since the Bible talks against it.

Obaapa Christy continued to say she is mostly at home focusing on her career instead of calling her comrades to gossip about others. The musician who has been nominated for the Gospel Artiste Of The Year and Gospel Song Of The Year categories at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards stated categorically that she is not the type of person who visits colleagues to have a long chat about their lives.

When A Man Cheats on You, It Doesn’t Mean He Doesn’t Love You – Jessica Opare

Radio and TV personality, Jessica Opare Saforo has waded into controversy with her comments on the Celebrity Fanzone.

Cheating is a very sensitive issue when it comes to relationships. It has led to many broken homes and relationships and remains a very controversial topic. Many believe that it’s an act of disrespect and a clear indication of lack of love.

However, in a publication on Viasat1, Jessica who is a co-host on the Celebrity Fanzone stated the fact that your man cheats on you does not mean he doesn’t love you.

She said when your man cheats and and rubs it in your face by making you aware, then it’s a different case but when he hides it from you, it only means that he still cares for you. She however was quick to point out that she doesn’t condone cheating i

“I have discovered over the years that when a man cheats on you, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you. It is a twisted thing but it is the truth. Unless he is being upfront and pleasant about the cheating then of course it is disrespectful, but when he hides it and tries to keep it away from you, then it actually means he still cares for you.” Jessica, upon realizing the impact of her words quickly added, “

I do not condone cheating on any kind of level but this is the realization I have come to.”

Do you agree with Jessica? Jessica, you sure?

A Rare Albino Giraffe Appeared In Garissa County And You Have To See It

A photographer has shared photos of a Giraffe with albinism in Ishaqbini Hirola Conservancy, Garissa county.

Jamie Manuel helps train rangers and assists in conservation activities across all 33 NRT (Northern Rangelands Trust) conservancies in Kenya. A few weeks ago in late March 2016, Jamie and the NRT’s research and monitoring team set off to catch a glimpse of a white giraffe after receiving tip-off from the local Somali Abdallah camel herders.

“We started in the area bordering the top end of the Boni Forest” said Jamie. “It is a vast expanse of thorny scrub and mbambakofi woodland. Word was sent out that we were on the trail of the white giraffe and slowly herders sent word back of the general area it had last been seen in.”

“Morning searches turned up twittering pods of dwarf mongooses sunning themselves, while lilac breasted rollers called from thorny perches. Carmine bee eaters and batleur eagles lent colour to the blue canvas of the sky and, until the heat got up, lesser kudu, buffalo, zebra, topi and gerenuk browsed and grazed in peace. Crested francolin screeched intermittently and vulturine guinea fowl danced a badly rehearsed polka dance amongst the grasses.” Jamie writes.

On the second day of searching in the forest, 20 reticulated giraffe peacefully infront of them. Among them, the white giraffe.

The rangers were thrilled to get a closer look, and were pleased to see that the animal looked healthy and was feeding well.

The Giraffe is plain white unlike the usual brown and white colouration that identifies the tallest herbivore in the animal kingdom.

White Giraffe of Ishaqbini

Scientifically, animals with albinism have next to zero survival chances in the wild because they cannot camouflage from predators like their colleagues.

They also suffer isolation by other who it is said consider the as strangers.

White Giraffe of Ishaqbini

The above Giraffe may however survive for long considering it lives within a conservancy where the environment is mostly controlled to increase the lifespan of endangered animals species.

Highlife was our music before Reggie Rockstone came through with Hiplife in the 90’s.

Many thought Hiplife was in to kill Highlife but Reggie debunked that when he remixed Alhaji K Frimpong’s “KyenKyen Bi Adi Mawu” track. After this, many other’s tried remixing of Highlife tunes.

Below are some old Highlife tunes which were remixed by Hiplife artistes and we loved so much.

Words Ghanaians Usually Pronounce Wrongly

$

0

Yes! Agreed it is not our mother’s tongue.

We even sometimes find it difficult speaking our own language properly not to talk of speaking another man’s language.

There are many words in Ghana we’ve pronounced wrongly for centuries and still doing it.

There are many of such words, to limit the atrocity we decided to give you just 20 of it.

1. Debris – /dɛ-bri/

The ‘S’ is silent, usually pronounsed “Debreeze” by Ghanaians.

laughing man

2. Hyundai – /hʌn-day/

Almost everybody in Ghana pronounces this word, “hoon-die” and you dare not try to correct them. The right pronunciation is what you see above. The ‘Y’ is silent and the ‘dai’ at the end is not ‘die’ but ‘day’.

3. Porsche – /Por-shuh/

In Ghana we have people pronounce this word, which is the name of a car that was named after Ferdinand Porsche as “Por-sh” or “Por-shay”, in fact “Por-shay” is widely known but the man it was named after clearly pronounced it as “Por-shuh”, it rhymes with Porcia but sounds more like “Porsha”.

4. Cappuccino – /kapʊˈtʃiːnəʊ/

The pronunciation of this word should be “Kapu-chee-no” and not “Capu-cee-no” as we hear some Ghanaians pronounce it.

5. Jose – /Hoo-Zey/

If there is one person who make Ghanaians pronounce this name a lot of times, it’s Jose Mourino but unfortunately, almost everybody including even well renowned journalists in Ghana get the pronunciation wrong. The right way to pronounce it is “Hoo-Zey” and not “Joo-Zey”.

6. Mischievous – /mɪstʃɪvəs/

Be honest, you’ve always pronounced this word, “Mis-chee-vious” if you’re a Ghanaian. But the right pronunciation should be “Mis-chi-vus”

7. Genre – /dʒɒnrə/

If you’re a Ghanaian and you’ve come across this word, we know you usually pronounce it as, “Gɛna”. Anyway, don’t stress over it, that makes you a Ghanaian. The right pronunciation is rather, “dzanra”.

8. February – /fɛbrʊəri/

The word is not “Febuary” it is rather “Feb-ru-ari”. If you don’t know, now you know.

9. Et Cetera – /ɛtˈsɛtərə/

If you know you’ve been pronouncing it, “excetara excetara” which we know you do, please kindly stop, you’re ruining it. The word is a Latin word and so give it all the courtesies it demands. You know how the Latin don’t joke with the emphasis on their words. The right pronunciation should be as you see above and so kindly remove the “X”.

10. Often – /ɒfən/

If you know you’ve been pronouncing it with the ‘T’ in it, then you should know you’ve been doing it wrong. Just so you know, the ‘T’ is silent. So the right pronunciation should be “Ofen” and not “Of-tin” as most Ghanaians pronounce it.

General-Mosquito

11. Niche – /niːʃ/

The pronunciation is “Nee-sh” and so if you know you’ve been saying, “nitch”, this is the time to drop it, you just learned the right pronunciation.

12. Asthma – /asmə/

We know sometimes your “abrofosem” gets a better hold of you and you try to sound British or American and these are some of the words you use to prove how scintillating your English sound and so you end up placing more emphasis on the “th” in there. But this is one word you don’t need the “th” in there, the right pronunciation is “Azma”… simple.

13. Lingerie – /lãʒəri/

When pronouncing words that originated from the French, you need to be very careful and don’t forget to pronounce it the French way and just because it finds itself in English doesn’t mean it should be pronounced English.

Say “Lawn-Zhon-Ray” not “Lin-Jer-Ree”

14. Banquet – /baŋkwɪt/

Many people confuse the pronunciation of banquet with bouquet all the time. The fact that they all have the same ending does not mean they should be pronounced the same. Banquet is pronounced “bankwit” just as you see it and bouquet is pronounced “boo-kay”

15. Bouquet – /bʊˈkeɪ/

The explanation above explains it all. We intentionally placed them beside each other so you can get it.

16. Entrepreneur – /ɒntrəprəˈnəː/

“Ontre-pre-neer” not “enter-pri-nur”

17.  Archipelago – /ɑːkɪˈpɛləɡəʊ/

This word has become very common in Ghana because of an internet celebrity who goes by the nickname “Archipelago” but even he also gets it wrong.

The word is a Greek word so you have to be mindful of the “Chi” in there. It is not to be pronounced as you see it, it should be with a “K” in mind and not a “Ch” so the right pronunciation should be, “Ar-ki-pel-ago” and not “ar-chee-pa-lago”.

18. Pizza – /piːtsə/

Almost everybody in Ghana gets it wrong. It’s “Pitza” not “Peeza”.

19. Caprice – /kəˈpriːs/

Well! Thanks to a place named after this word in Ghana, almost everybody assumes that’s the right way of pronouncing it. It is not “kap-rize”, it is “Ke-pris”

20. Plumber – /plʌmə/

Be honest, how many of us really say, “Plumer”. Most Ghanaians calls them, “Plum-ba”, now from today take note, the “B” in there is silent, it should be “Plumer” not “Plumba”.

So there you have it, make no mistake anymore. You may want to see some words that are only known to Ghanaians

Gladiator Sandals For Men; Yay Or Nay?

Male fashion trends are no stranger to controversy … Let’s talk about the mandal…yes, the male sandal.

In 2011 when Burberry Prorsum launched the male gladiator sandal for their spring summer collection, blogs and fashion enthusiasts gave their two cents from calling the trend ‘the mandal horror’ to ‘gladiator sandals for men…yuck’ to every other adjective that can be used to suggest that a trend is atrocious. Other men however, loved the trend and went on to rock them sandals like the true fashionistas they are!

As with every fashion trend, there’s the rise and fall cycle…that said, the gladiator sandal for men is back as seen in the Balmain 2016 Spring collection.

Here is how African men are wearing the gladiator sandal:

3. He proves that men can also wear knee length gladiator sandals with shorts…more so, that they can go for vibrant colors. Bold!!!

7. The shorts and knee length gladiator sandals seems to be more common …

8. This guy went for the knee length sandals and shorts too

What we can learn from these men:

1. Never wear your gladiator sandals with socks

2. Pair your sandals with either shorts, very fitting pants or carrot pants/joggers/harem pants.

Here comes the debate. Gladiator sandals for men; yay or nay?

I doubt if TV and radio presenter Amanda Jissih is also a taxi driver due to pictures we have received which capture her in the driver’s seat of the commercial car.

According to the person who sent these pictures, he took these shots Tuesday evening when he saw the Gh One TV presenter stuck in traffic at Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

It was not clear where Amanda was coming from but she was heading towards Madina. The source added that he saw a man at the back seat of the car but could not figure out the person.

He said Amanda warned him to stop taking the pictures when she saw what he was doing but before then, he had captured some nice moments of her enjoying the drive.

Celebrity Relationships That Didn’t Work

Celebrity relationships all over the world do not always have a fairy-tale ending. They mostly end just s suddenly as they started.

This is mostly due to time availability and commitment on the part of both partners due to their work and time schedules. Whichever way it is, we always love celebrity couples, those who are able to make it enjoy a lot of love and commendation from the public.

Ghana has had it’s fair share of celebrity relationships including marriage and as usual, some didn’t make it to the finish line.

Below are some celebrity relationships in Ghana that collapsed on the way.

Nikki Samonas and Ekow Smith Asante

This is much of a surprise since not many had a hint. Their relationship was made public by actress, Nikki Samonas. She revealed in an interview on the Delay Show that she dated Ekow who is currently married and they broke up somewhere in 2008.

Speaking further, she indicated that she’ll not even accept Ekow as a gift if he’s presented as such to her. Life!

Confidence Haugen and Edem

Edem started dating Confidence who is the CEO of Aphrodisiac Night Club and other ventures after the release of his first album somewhere in 2009. Their affair however ended on a soar note with accusation of theft leveled against Edem by Confidence. Edem denied this and later leaked an audio of a phone conversation between himself and Confidence where the later was crying and begging him to come back into her life. Edem is now married and Confidence also just recently gave birth.

Nana Ama McBrown and Okyeame Kwame

They would have been our very own Jay Z and Beyonce. The actress and rapper dated briefly in 2004. They went everywhere together and the public loved them. However, they broke up. According to Okyeame Kwame in an interview published on GhanaWeb, Nana Ama Mcbrown is hard to tame and wants to have her way all the time.

Amandzeba and Akosua Agyepong

They started dating in 1994 after coming together as NAKOREX with Rex Omar. They then got married after two years of courtship and were married for 15-years before deciding to end it. Jay Foley and Jeremie Van-Garshong

There’s was a relationship of confusion. Jay indicated in an interview on The Late Night Celebrity Show that they were not dating but are good friends. Surprisingly, appearing on the same show prior to Jay’s appearance, Jeremie confirmed that they were dating. She even added that she’ll marry Jay Foley.

However, in a turn of events, news got out that Jeremie had dumped Jay and was dating actor, Senanu Gbedawo. Jay Foley also moved on and is currently married but Jeremie remains single still.

Kwame Sefa Kayi and Irene Opare

Their affair started somewhere in the late 90’s. She got pregnant for Kwame in 1998 and had a baby girl. They however didn’t stay together.

Yvonne Nelson and Iyanya

We are adding this because she’s Ghanaian. She dated Nigerian singer, Iyanya, somewhere in 2012 but their relationship didn’t end well as the young Nigerian singer, dumped her.

They were very cute together though.

I Have Nothing Against sarkodie, I Was Just Advising Him – Lord Kenya

Former Hiplife artiste turned Evangelist, Lord Kenya has clarified his comment on BET award winner, Sarkodie as a braggart.

Lord Kenya in an interview on Starr Chat with Bola Ray stated that Sarkodie cannot be the best rapper in Ghana. He asked how many albums Sarkodie has to claim that title.

He explained that one does not become best rapper in one year but it takes decades of hard work and consistency. He therefore asked Sarkodie to stop bragging since he hasn’t reached that level yet.

This comment has generated a lot of debate with many calling Lord Kenya an attention seeker.

On Hitz News according to PeaceFmOnline, Lord Kenya indicated that he has nothing personal against Sarkodie. He explained that his comment was just an advice to Sarkodie to tone down.

He however indicated that, even though Sarkodie is a good rapper and is doing his own thing, he believes that he is indeed bragging.

“I have nothing against my brother, he is doing his own thing but if you ask me, that’s what I think he is doing [bragging]. He is a good rapper by all standards but we are humans. There are some things I might be doing that’s not right. And when people say tone down, I think it is an advice. I think we’ve taken the whole thing out of proportion. It is not a personal attack. I’m above that,” he said.

11 Struggles That Hit Home With Kenyan Girls Who Can’t Cook To Save Their Lives

$
0
0

Let’s talk kitchen matters …

Not all of us have that Martha Stewart touch when it comes to all things culinery prowess. Some of us can only make an egg or boil some rice or pasta to save our lives. Attempting to cook anything else means risking burning yourself, the house and the entire neighborhood.

Here are struggles that girls who cannot cook can identify with:

1. Attempting to cook only to end up with burnt food

You’re cooking rice, ugali or a stew and you excuse yourself for a few seconds to check your phone and by the time you’re back in the kitchen, it’s Hiroshima in there! Literally! Things have gone batsh*t crazy…the kitchen is full of smoke, food is burning and yeah you are screwed. Luckily, you have Pizza Inn’s number on speed dial!

http://www.shemazing.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/storming_off_gif.gif

2.Wondering what goes before what

Have you ever attempted to cook and wondered if the onions go before the meat or vice versa for example? Then you end up just mixing everything into a weird concoction and hope it works out in the end?

3. Googling a recipe

When you Google a recipe and some of the ingredients begin to sound like quantum physics…cardamom, bay leaves “Hold up, wtf are these?” I have even found myself calling a sibling to ask “Dania na hoho zinaitwaje na kizungu?”

5. The clock is your best friend

Not knowing whether or not something is cooked and depending on the time Google or the packaging on the food advised. Even worse, when you’re frying something and it starts sounding like fire works and the panic starts kicking in…

6. Cooking and eating your food alone…

Because no one wants to eat food that looks like this…

7. Watching cooking shows…

And feeling like you’re watching magic.

8. Your finger is always in danger

If you don’t accidentally cut yourself while chopping the ingredients, you’re likely to burn yourself when opening the lid of a boiling pot. Steam is such a mother! Burning your fingers and trying to give you scars for no reason. #Icanteven!

9. Dealing with the “So when are you cooking for me?” question on dates…

10. And having to constantly deal with the ‘Martha Stewarts’ that complain about your cooking…

Or being told you’ll never find a man cause your cooking skills suck…

11. You can’t even attempt to post a food photo with hashtags such as #Foodporn #Cook #Yummy #Instafood #Throwdown pic on social media!

Cause you’re a** is gonna get trolled!
