Every woman’s handbag is like their best friend. It comes with her everywhere and holds all of her secrets. Okay, maybe not all her secrets, but if you peeped in it, you might be embarrassed as to what you’d find.
A typical personal handbag has tons of stuff in it. Some things, like wallet and keys, are obvious, but what about the other things?
These are the 11 things that every woman should have in her bag…
1. Hand Sanitizer
When you’re outside, you touch things that have been touched over 100 times and never wiped down. After visiting the ATM, you count your money. When you meet someone new you shake their hand. Every now and then you sneeze into your own hands (eww). For these and so many other reasons, hand sanitizer is a must. It helps protect you as well as anyone you come into contact with from spreading yucky germs.
2. Safety Pins/Sewing Kits (You never know)
I have see the mortified faces of girls when they looked down and saw that their blouse was missing a button. It’s the perfect excuse for most women to buy another top, but if it’s the middle of the day and you’re still at work, what are you supposed to do for the next few hours? Safety pin and mini sewing kit to the rescue!
3. Hair Items
Always keep a few hairbands and bobby pins in your purse. They’re especially handy when you find yourself over heated and need to pull your weave hair back.
4. Pain Killer
A headache can put a damper in your whole day. By keeping a travel sized bottle of aspirin, you’ll be able to banish that headache to some faraway place and get back to the important things you needed to do.
5. Compact Mirror
What do you do when there is something in your eye and there’s no mirror in sight. What about checking your teeth after that kenkey you ate for lunch? I guess you could always ask a stranger if your hair looks okay, but if you’ve got a little mirror, you can do it yourself.
6. Tampon or Pad
Most women can’t imagine anything worse than needing a tampon and not having one. By keeping one in your bag, you’ll always be prepared. And even if you don’t need it, you might run into a lady in a bathroom at work or school who might desperately need one. Think about other people too!
7. Breath Mints or Gum Mints
How much do you hate it when someone has to speak to you after eating fish for lunch? Don’t make the same mistake yourself. Save any embarrassment and keep this one in your bag at all times! Bad breath can be quite a turn off.
8. Lipstick or Lip Gloss
At any given moment, you must have at least a lipstick, lip balm or lip gloss in your bag. Your lips will love you for it, they’ll never be dry and in a pinch you can go from casual to fancy with a few sweeps of red lipstick.
9. Baby Moisturizer/Lotion
A lot of the times you may find random patches on your face that are dry or at other times your knees and legs might get ashy, especially during the colder seasons! Although a lip balm can be used to solve the problem, it’s more than likely that its tinted or shiny. Instead a baby bottle of lotion always comes in handy!
10. Small Pack Of Tissue paper
There is nothing more attractive about a woman than hygiene, which is why it’s important to maintain cleanliness and keep up your appearance! One thing that can help with that is a small pack of tissue that you can stick in your bag. There are so many instances when they can come to your rescue, especially when you got the case of the sniffs, spilled a drink and need to wipe your fingers!
11. Deodorant
Deodorant is the ultimate lifesaver during long and busy days. The heat in Ghana is currently unbearable and running around especially during those hot summer days can make you feel self conscious about your odour. So try to keep a baby deodorant in your bag at all times for the moments when you need to freshen up!
