Every year, the BBC chooses its list of inspirational and influential women.
This year, two brilliant Nigerian women made the cut. And we couldn’t be more proud of them and their achievements. The two women are Funke Bucknor Obruthe and Omotade Alalade. You can see the full list here.
1. Funke Bucknor Obruthe is one of the top wedding planners in Nigeria.
She is 40 years old and she plans glitzy and celebrity weddings in Nigeria and elsewhere, ranging from 500 to 2000 people. In her words:
What inspires me is the need to see those around me succeed, pulling the next human being up, and not accepting failure as an option.

2. Omotade Alalade is an Infertility foundation creator
She is 30 years old and the founder of the BeiBei Haven Foundation, which helps those who struggle with infertility, and is growing globally. In her words:
Support and knowledge go a long way in helping women deal with infertility and baby loss.
