The matatu culture in Nairobi is definitely on a whole different level. Other towns and cities can just watch and learn.
And it keeps getting better. So apparently a Ngong matatu has decided to go the flight route by deciding to be serving drinks to passengers.

The Punisher, as it is popularly known will now be offering free sodas to passengers headed to Ngong from the CBD every Tuesday and Fridays.
This news was revealed by one of the ‘Punisher’ managers Calvin Odhiambo in an interview with SDE. All this is an attempt to make the matatu trump its competitors.
He said:
We are giving out free drinks on every Tuesdays and Fridays for all passegers headed to Ngong from the city centre and this will continue just like it happens in flights.
It would be interesting to see if other matatus will try to copy this move. Let’s just hope the fares won’t skyrocket to cover the costs incurred in buying the drinks. We’ll just have to wait and see.
