The University of Ibadan is the best university in Nigeria, according to a new list from the Ranking Web or Webometrics.
Webometrics is a ranking of all the universities of the world, not only a few hundred institutions from the developed world. Webometrics listed U.I at the top of the list based on bibliometrics – a statistical analysis of written publications, not only (e-journals, repositories) publications but also informal scholarly communication.
According to the report, the objective of the rankings is not to evaluate websites, their design or usability or the popularity of their contents according to the number of visits or visitors.
