A long time ago, we had no internet, all we had was radio and TV, those days was hard as we had very little to entertain us. Even our TV stations were full of boring programs, not forgetting the fact that we had only one TV station serving the whole nation.

Nevertheless, we entertained ourselves with the little that we had. We have to give it up to those TV commercials which at least gave us some sort of entertainment, like this one. I can bet we all understand that the TV Key Soap commercial you will see below was one of the funniest and creative commercials. Do you remember the commercial?

Akata No Problem: What Do You Find Wrong With Samuel Inkoom’s Fashion Sense – Photos

$

Akata simply means dressing “gangster” and young men between the ages of 10 to 25 are fond of dressing that way, thanks to the Hip Hop culture and the abundance of American movies in Ghana. Mostly men who dress that way are considered kids or childish in Ghana.

Don’t get us wrong, we are all entitled to dress however we want to dress, at the end of the day, we don’t cloth anybody. Ghanaian Footballers are noted to have a thing for that style of dressing and one of the major patrons of “Akata” dressing is Samuel Inkoom. He has a baby face and he looks good in them but for a man of his “real age” (pun intended), with three kids, one would expect he dressed more smarter, especially with all that money, respect and beautiful family.

Take a look at these photos and let us know if you find it right or what you find wrong with the way he dresses.

In Jamaica where Dancehall emerged from, they are known to be very ruthless and even sometimes violent, those who copied the genre in other countries do the same thing. Sometimes even worst.

This year has been a Dancehall year in the Ghana music scene. Musicians in the genre are known to be notorious, disrespectful, shallow thinkers and very childish in their dealings. Usually they do what they do for attention and it works perfectly for them.

shatta_usa_

Embattled musician, Shatta Wale has strike again by disrespecting his fellow artistes in the genre by calling them broke on his infamous Facebook page. He said none of them can even boast of ¢5,000 (less than $2,000), it could be true and it could be lies. READ WHAT HE SAID in the image below.

Screen Shot 2014-12-02 at 11.08.05 PM

Ras Kuuku, bubbling Dancehall artiste who is rapidly becoming a sensation, decided to respond by showing off his Bank Statement, in which he had ¢10,000 balance in it.

Truth be told, is this necessary, what happened to privacy and acting like grown men so people can take them serious. Musicians complain bitterly that big companies/government and the general public doesn’t take them serious, but why would anyone take you serious if you exhibit this kind of childish behavior.

Let us know what you think about the dancehall artistes in Ghana. Do you think they are way too childish or not?

Celebrities can annoy the hell out of you with their show off attitude. Of course if you were to be paid for getting popular, I guess you would do the same. Ghanaian Celebrities these days have learnt from celebrities from the west like Kim Kardashian and co. who don’t pay a dime for the stuff they wear and the places they go, but are rather paid to advertise these products.

In Africa, Nigerian celebrities are the worst in terms of showing off as they make their every move known to the general public, some people even pay for their belongings to be broadcasted on tabloids. Ghanaian celebrities are following suite, the only difference is, Ghanaian celebrities are not that rich like their Nigerian counterparts so it gets in their way.

Even with that, they still borrow from friends or move with rich friends and use their stuff to show off. Most times, the little things matter to them, so they would broadcast it on their social media pages. Let’s take a look at Ghanaian celebs who show off the most on social media.

1. Sandra Ankobiah

nana_aba_sandra_ama_k

She is the queen of show off and many have started questioning where she gets all that money to live the lavish life she lives. Some say she is from a rich home, others say, she gets the cash from her lawyer gig, well she knows best, but she flies constantly in first class, shows off her cars, designer wears and even countries she visits. Doesn’t it get boring? Sigh!

Whether it’s the girl next door, some chick you just met at a bar, your wife, or your girlfriend, sex is a very intimate experience. So, when you’re in your bedroom, it is important to make sure you don’t say anything that could ruin the mood, or even worse – turn them off so badly, that she wouldn’t want to sleep with you again. There are things women simply do not want to hear in bed. It’s simple, if you don’t know what to say, keep your mouth shut.

Usually, during sex, a lot of things come to mind and you wish to say them and get them off your chest but no matter the temptation, there are certain things you should never say and here are 10 of them.

1. “Not Like That”

woman-refusing-sex-636

Girls don’t like to be told that their “skills” are below par in the act, it’s not sexy nor is it encouraging. You should always talk about what you DO like instead of what you do not like. If, however, there are things which makes you really uncomfortable, you should discuss it, just not while having sex. How you say things to each other can make a huge difference in your performance and sexual confidence.

Ghanaian actress and film producer,  Juliet Ibrahim has accused Ghallywood Production Limited, organisers of the annual Ghana Movie Awards of being biased. juliet_ibrahim

According to the “Number 1 Fan” movie producer, there is no fairness in the awards. She added that nominations for some actors should be enough to make the individual happy because winning the award is not possible.

When it comes to Ghana Movie awards, you can’t predict it. I always say the awards is two people awards. You always know who will win what so then you should be happy when you are nominated because at least they have recognized you”

Juliet Ibrahim explaining why she was not nominated for Best Actress in Leading Role said “they fear me. They did not put me in Best Actress category because they know I will sweep that award so let somebody enjoy it.”

With the Christmas festivities around the corner, sales of electronic devices have started soaring. More people are putting up electronic devices for sale online. The simple reason is that the festive season presents an opportunity for a lot of people to show love to the most important people in their lives. That is when people are spending so you need to make hay and what a good time to sell! Kofi Boateng is a father of three who operates a transport business in Tema and had this to say “I’m selling my old LG TV set so I can afford to buy my family a flat screen TV for Christmas”.

By October this year, the volume of devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and TV sets posted on Tonaton.com alone have grown by 83% compared to the same period last year.

tonatonSource: Tonaton.com

The growth in online marketplaces has certainly changed the mode of buying and selling in Ghana. And this phenomenon will become more marked this Christmas as consumers look across online classified websites to either buy or sell because of convenience and the wide array of choice.

“We are entering a period where people tend to scratch their heads for which presents will be ideal for the family and friends. Fortunately the continuous innovation in electronic gadgets with its appeal to consumers continue to make them the most ideal presents. A glimpse at the wide array of devices available on Tonaton.com shows that one can buy gifts for everyone including the kids,” remarks Kwabena Opoku-Boakye, Marketing Manager for Tonaton.com. “This perhaps is the more reason why the quantity of electronic items posted on our website far surpasses all the other categories,” he concludes.

The most common item within the electronics category is mobile phones and the most popular brands are Samsung, Nokia, Apple, HTC, Huawei and Sony.

The growth in internet usage as a result of the high levels of mobile phone penetration has certainly brought with it a fast and a more cost-effective marketplace than ever before. It is already possible for buyers to search for any item of their choice on Tonaton.com. One can restrict a search to the electronic brand of choice in a given locality. Sellers are also assured of attracting potential buyers from the over 900,000 monthly unique visitors to the website. Tonaton.com is the biggest online marketplace in Ghana.
